From 29 August to 13 September 2025, Elba Island becomes an open-air stage with the new edition of the Elba Isola Musicale d’Europa Festival. Sixteen concerts will enliven historic villages, squares and breathtaking landscapes, from Portoferraio to Capoliveri, from Rio to Marciana and Marciana Marina.
An international music festival that every year brings together renowned classical musicians, young talents and audiences from all over the world, creating a unique atmosphere suspended between art, nature and history.
Among the most anticipated events of 2025:
- The Festival opening entrusted to Gidon Kremer, with Fratres by Arvo Pärt, as a tribute to the composer celebrating his 90th birthday this year;
- The return of the legendary Martha Argerich, performing works by Shostakovich and Schumann;
- The debut on Elba of the young and multi-award-winning cellist Edgar Moreau, one of the rising stars of the international music scene;
- Two special events combining music and words in a creative dialogue between different languages;
- Jazz meets the island with Fabrizio Bosso and his trio “Drumpet” in Capoliveri, and a grand finale with Mauro Ottolini in a concert inspired by South American rhythms.
Among the featured artists are also Mario Brunello, Enrico Pace, Erica Piccotti, Quartetto Indaco, Jacopo Taddei, Samuele Telari, Olivia Trummer and many other renowned performers.
Alongside the major names, the Festival continues its commitment to training and supporting young musicians: the Elba Festival Orchestra returns as a shared opportunity for artistic growth, together with the Elba Festival Prize, awarded this year to two promising young musicians, one born on Elba and one Elba resident by adoption.
In this way, the Elba Isola Musicale d’Europa Festival reaffirms its mission: weaving together tradition, present and future of music in a landscape and cultural setting of extraordinary beauty.
