Here you are only just outside the Marine Park of Pianosa, in the open sea, so please be very careful of the currents that at times can be quite strong.
The tip of the sandbank is at a depth of 25 m, and here you will see a large anchor about 4 m in length, that is covered in sponges and lies trapped between the rocks.
Over the years the numerous cracks in the sandbank have become the perfect homes to large snappers. The walls that go deep down into the light coloured sand are rich in life so you will see many shrimps, moray eels, conger eels, white hakes, sponges, crayfish and nudibranchs and probably some beautiful amberjacks and small tunas too.
From time to time you will also come across some snappers and barracudas in this crystal clear water.
