Pharmacies on duty

The pharmacies on Elba Island are divided into four groups. For each group, an on-duty pharmacy service is provided on a weekly rotation:

The duty period begins on Saturday morning when the pharmacy opens and ends the following Saturday when it opens. During the duty period, during the scheduled opening hours on public holidays, for example in the morning, the pharmacy is regularly open to the public and provides its normal service.

On-call service outside opening hours

Being on call does not mean that the pharmacy remains open throughout the night.

During afternoon and night-time closing hours, the service is provided behind closed doors and on call, by calling the telephone number or using the bell indicated by the pharmacy.

The on-call service may be requested only for urgent needs and upon presentation of an urgent medical prescription issued during the pharmacy's closing hours. It is therefore not a continuous night-time opening service for the ordinary purchase of medicines or other products.
