116117 (read one one six one one seven) is the new European single number for accessing non-urgent medical care and other health services. The number is free and accessible from both landlines and mobile phones.

Tourist medical assistance
The tourist healthcare service provides seasonal medical assistance to Italian and foreign citizens temporarily staying on Elba Island. Services at tourist medical points are subject to payment, except for first aid and for STP or ENI citizens.

Clinic visits by phone appointment and home visits on weekdays from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, Saturdays and days before holidays from 8:00 am to 10:00 am.

Short visit for therapeutic continuity €10.00, clinic visit €20.00, home visit €35.00.
Note: Residents must contact their own general practitioner or family pediatrician, or the out-of-hours service during its operating hours.

For non-urgent health issues that cannot wait for your family doctor or pediatrician's regular hours, during nighttime, weekends, and holidays, the out-of-hours service is available at 116117.
- Weekdays: from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am the next day
- Weekends: from 8:00 am Saturday to 8:00 am Monday
- Public holidays: from 10:00 am on the day before the holiday to 8:00 am on the next working day
Ticket costs
The out-of-hours service is free for Tuscany residents. Non-residents present in the region must pay €20 for a clinic visit and €30 for a home visit.
