For a healthy and relaxing stay on Elba, we suggest the Bondi apartments at Porto Azzurri, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and run by a family.
The apartments are located in a residential family structure and include the Ulivo single-room apartment, Corbezzolo and Limone twin-room apartments and Mirto three-room apartment. All are equipped with mod cons: private car park, TV, washing machine, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, barbecue, bed linen and exclusive and shared outside spaces (terrace and garden). Pets welcome.
The apartments are located in a quiet area on the outskirts of Porto Azzurro, about 1 km from the town centre and about 100 m from the beautiful beach at Barbarossa, where there is a fully equipped beach and canoes and pedalos can be hired, with free beach access, camping, restaurants and bar and a renowned deep-sea diving school and guided excursions.
The town is one of the prettiest on Elba, with a seafront and beautiful main square, located on the south-eastern side of the island, with easy access to other nearby towns, including Capoliveri, Lacona, Marina di Campo, Portoferraio, Rio Marina and the best beaches on the island.
The town centre is within walking distance of the apartments, about 15 minutes away on a back road. There is a free shuttle bus service available in the evenings.
The Carmignani path is accessible from the nearby beach at Barbarossa, a short and fairly easy trek (about 1 km) through nature which is particularly suited to children, with spectacular views straight down to the sea flanking the ancient San Giacomo fortress, which is now used as the prison of Porto Azzurro. The path ends on the beach at Pianotta, near the town seafront.
For those who enjoy more difficult treks, the Santuario di Monserrato path is easily accessible from the apartments (about 150 m) and goes to Monte della Croce.
