Mountain bike and trekking lovers will be pleased to know that just off the Chiusa there are numerous paths and routes within the Tuscan Archipelago National Park that they can follow all year round; all go across the typical, Mediterranean bush, and offer you many interesting areas both from a naturalistic and a historical point of view from where the scenery is truly breathtaking.

From the Chiusa di Rio the view of the valleys below Rio nell’Elba is breathtaking; the town is more than a thousand years old and one of the oldest in Elba, and if you wish to learn more about its history just go and visit the Archaeology Museum or the Hermitage of Santa Caterina (home today of the Orto dei Semplici botanical gardens) or the Public Wash Houses or the Canali Fountain, all only two kilometers from here.

The Chiusa di Rio is also perfect if you wish to head for some of the most beautiful sandy or shingle beaches on the island like Nisporto, Nisportino and Bagnaia on the western side, or the colourful, mineral beaches to the east between Cavo and Porto Azzurro.

The flats are divided into three separate buildings (Villa Grassera, Dependance and La Mimosa); each has its own private entrance and parking space, and all have kitchenette with electric rings, tv, bathroom with shower and fully equipped portico and terrace with table and chairs for eating outside as well as use of a barbecue to be shared by all the guests. Wi-Fi is free in the common areas too.

Dependance

The dependence is on two floors and consists of 2, one-bedroom flats with rustic style furnishings and sleep a maximum of 3 people.

Both flats have kitchenette, dining room with a double and single bed settee, bathroom, tv, air conditioning and anti mosquito nets on the windows.

La Mimosa

La Mimosa is an old Tuscan style farm house on two floors that has recently been renovated, and is divided into 3 two-room flats, 1 one-room flat and 1 farmhouse with a spacious garden. All the flats have modern style furnishing and face both the swimming pool and the valley of Rio nell’Elba.

Both the two-room apartments and the farm house can sleep up to a maximum of 4 people and consist of a sitting room with kitchenette, double bed settee, double bedroom and bathroom.

One-room apartment :ground floor, sleeps up to three people, sitting room with kitchenette, double bed, single bed settee, bathroom.

Villa Grassera

Villa Grassera, (150 square metres) is furnished in a classical and elegant manner and can sleep up to a maximum of 6/8 people, and consists of 2 double bedrooms, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, 2 bathrooms. A spacious sitting room with open fire and sat tv, 2 single-bed settees, kitchen and laundry room.

The apartment has its own private entrance and parking space for two cars, and there is a spacious garden all round; it also has 2 terraces with tables and chairs, barbeque and solarium.
