For mountain biking and trekking enthusiasts, just a short distance from La Chiusa there are several routes and trails within the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, accessible all year round, crossing Mediterranean scrub and places of natural and historical interest with spectacular views.
La Chiusa di Rio offers a splendid panoramic view over the valley of Rio nell'Elba, one of the oldest villages on Elba, just 2 km from the property, with a thousand-year history that can be explored and discovered by visiting the Archaeological Museum, the Santa Caterina Hermitage (which today houses the botanical garden known as the Orto dei Semplici), the Public Washhouses and La Fontana dei Canali.
La Chiusa di Rio is also an ideal starting point for visiting some of the most beautiful beaches on the island, both sandy and pebbly: Nisporto, Nisportino and Bagnaia on the western side, and the mining beaches in different colours between Cavo and Porto Azzurro to the east.
The apartments are divided among three different buildings (Villa Grassera, Dependance and La Mimosa), with separate and independent entrances, private parking and kitchens with electric hobs, TV, bathrooms with shower, and terraces or covered patios equipped for outdoor dining with tables and chairs and panoramic views, as well as a barbecue shared with the other guests. Dependance
The Dependance, arranged over two levels, contains 2 studio apartments well furnished in a rustic style, accommodating up to a maximum of 3 people.
The apartments consist of a living room with kitchen and double and single sofa beds, bathroom, TV, mosquito screens and air conditioning.
La Mimosa
La Mimosa, an old Tuscan farmhouse arranged over two levels and recently renovated, is divided into 3 one-bedroom apartments, 1 studio apartment and an independent rustic-style unit with a large garden. All the apartments are furnished in a modern, comfortable style and overlook the swimming pool and the valley of Rio nell'Elba.
The one-bedroom apartments and the rustic-style unit can accommodate up to a maximum of 4 people and consist of a living room with kitchen and double sofa bed, double bedroom and bathroom.
Studio apartment: 3 beds, ground floor, living area with kitchenette, double bed and single sofa, and bathroom.
Villa Grassera
Villa Grassera, (150 square metres), furnished in a classic and elegant style, can accommodate up to 6/8 people and consists of 2 double bedrooms, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, 2 bathrooms, a spacious living room with fireplace and satellite TV, 2 single sofa beds, a separate kitchen and laundry room.
Outside, the villa is surrounded by a large garden with private entrance and parking spaces, 2 terraces with tables and chairs, barbecue and sun terrace.
