The hotel also has a long-standing reputation for sports activities on offer as well as a strong commitment to environmental issues, such to have been awarded recognition from the Italian Green movement, Legambiente, for good practices used in the protection and enhancement of the local area.

Unique on Elba, the hotel has also received the Ecolabel, the European certificate attesting product and service quality of low environmental impact.

Essential and relaxing furnishings in wicker and bamboo, the guest areas overlook four terraces and beyond to the islands of Capraia and Corsica, standing out on the horizon.

The management of the hotel is completely orientated to energy saving and re-cycling. Aluminium has been outlawed at Hotel Danila and only glass and re-cyclable materials are used. Biodegradable products, palm and coconut oil soap and strictly ecological paper.

Interiors and exteriors are lit using low energy consumption lighting; separate waste collection is a daily habit and water consumption is reduced thanks to a re-cycling plant which powers the hot water and air conditioning systems.

At the table, health and tradition are the key. Even the most refined palates find delight in the traditional cuisine, dishes made from simple recipes using bio ingredients.

Jasmin, eucalyptus and oleander dot the Mediterranean vegetation surrounding the four villas comprising the hotel. The variety of bedroom accommodation, inspired by these three plants, ensures guests comfort and a natural, health regenerating atmosphere, accompanied by the fragrance of myrtle and arbutus.
